We celebrate the value
of each child and set high
expectations of them.

School Vision

Holy Trinity School was established in 1858 to educate the children of the village to become valued members of their community.  This was part of the Church’s support for the education of all and was rooted in Christianity with this being core to everything that was taught.  Dobcross was a mill village producing cloth as well as a farming community.  Most villagers worked in one of these industries.

Today we still hold the same vision as in 1858.  We desire our children become responsible and valued members of their local, national and international community.  We also wish to create an inclusive school that celebrates and support all children regardless of background, needs or circumstances to achieve their aspirations.  We endeavor to do this through the teachings of Bible and by providing a nurturing, loving environment that allows children to flourish.

Our motto – Learn to Love and love to learn is rooted in the biblical verse

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

(Psalm 32.8)

In order to realise our vision we teach through 6 distinct values each one linking to our Vision and rooted in Christianity.

Friendship

Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one’s life for one’s friend. (John 15: 12-13)

Forgiveness

Forgive us our trespasses and we forgive those who trespass against us.  (The Lord’s Prayer)

Kindness and compassion

So in everything do unto others what you would have them do unto you. (Luke 6:31)

Perseverance

At the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

Respect and Reverence

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God. (Peter 2:17)

Creativity

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  (Genesis 1:1)
